Traveling Alongside Events: “Hidden Gem” Towns Gain Popularity

During the National Day holiday, various sports events in Yunnan are in full swing, driving the deep integration of “cultural, sports, and tourism industries.” Traveling alongside events has become a new trend for vacations.

On the morning of October 5th, over 10,000 runners from both domestic and international backgrounds gathered in Yuxi for a grand marathon carnival, celebrating with an energetic anthem of sports.

According to reports, this event featured the themes “Jumping in Yuxi, Moving Forward” and “Singing the Same Song, Being One Family.” It included a full marathon, half marathon, and mini run, attracting a total of 10,560 participants from 32 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) in China, as well as six foreign countries including Germany, the UK, and France. Along the racecourse, numerous cultural performances such as drumming, lantern dances, and cheerleading showcased Yuxi’s warm welcome to visitors, providing a rich blend of culture, sports, and tourism for the runners.

In the scenic Nujiang region, an outdoor paradise, the 2024 Bingzhongluo Mountain Bike Race took place on October 3rd and 4th in Fugong and Gongshan counties. This event also attracted mountain biking enthusiasts from across the country, all gathering in Nujiang to race against the wind.

Consumer Market Thrives with Strong Supply and Demand, Continually Refreshing Experiences

In addition to vibrant cultural and tourism activities, Yunnan’s consumer market is also continuously evolving. Self-driving tours, study tours, and rural tourism remain popular, with new experiences, products, and business models emerging all the time.

Dali Prefecture is continuously enriching its offerings by creating immersive cultural tourism experiences that allow visitors to transition from merely “viewing” to fully “experiencing” the scenery.
