This is a guide on how to make a travel guide(2)

Develop a strategy

1.Come up with a theme for this trip

“Theme” is to set a tone for a trip, even if it is “xxx I’m coming” or “meet again, xxx”, although unfashionable and straightforward, the atmosphere will come up at once.

Looking back at the past, several of our travel themes now seem very mediocre. But it’s also a happy memory hahaha!

2.Select a specific location

The travel information we collected earlier will be used specifically in this step. Assuming you have 5 days to play in Beijing, where will you go? According to the experience of past people, we need to specifically screen the places we want to go and need to go – maybe we have to go to Tiananmen, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, maybe the Summer Palace and the Old Summer Palace, maybe we need to go to the National Museum to learn more, maybe we should take our children to the Natural Museum, maybe we want to go to Universal Studios to experience it, maybe we have to go to the Bird’s Nest Water Cube to feel the atmosphere, maybe we also want to go to the Temple of Heaven, Qianmen Street, Nanluogu Lane, Xiangshan Red Leaves, National Botanical Garden, Beijing Zoo… Mom, time is not enough. It is necessary to make a choice and select a clear place to play. Don’t be greedy for too many places. Squeezing multiple places in a day like a special forces soldier will only affect the travel experience and physical health.

3.Optimize travel routes

Based on the selected location, optimize the scenic spots that are closer and have reasonable travel time into specific routes. This step mainly requires the help of a map app. Generally speaking, we are unfamiliar with the destination city, so it is important to check where these places are located, how far they are on the map, how long it takes to walk, take public transportation, or take a taxi (or drive), and how long it takes to visit different places. This will help us plan our daily itinerary reasonably. For example, when visiting Suzhou, Hanshan Temple and Fengqiao are adjacent to each other, and you can walk across a bridge to get there. It takes about 2-3 hours to travel around; The famous garden attraction Liuyuan is about 3 kilometers away from Hanshan Temple/Fengqiao Scenic Area, a 10 minute drive, and a travel time of about 2-3 hours. So these two scenic spots can be visited on the same day, with Hanshan Temple and Fengqiao in the morning and gardens in the afternoon. For example, I saw a parent-child study tour in Beijing before. One day, we arranged for the Summer Palace in the morning and the National Museum in the afternoon. It should be noted that these two places are more than 20 kilometers away, and the drive may take nearly an hour. You should know that it takes about half a day to wander around and play in the Summer Palace. Going to the National Museum again, it’s almost closed there. So, it’s up to everyone to figure out which steps were sacrificed in this itinerary… There are still some information gaps that cannot be obtained from the map that need to be filled in with the information we collected earlier. Returning to the Summer Palace, it is about 3 kilometers away and only a 10 minute drive away. However, both parks are very large and can be played for at least half a day. If you want to play in depth, it will take a whole day. From an experiential perspective, it is definitely not suitable to play on the same day. The key to optimizing the route is to arrange nearby attractions with reasonable travel time on the same day, avoid traveling back and forth between distant attractions, avoid compressing attractions with longer travel time together, avoid going back and forth, and avoid taking the wrong path.

4. Choose transportation and accommodation

In addition to the major transportation from our own city to the destination city, what we need to consider most is how to solve the small transportation between scenic spots every day.
If it is a large city with well-developed public transportation, it is feasible to take the subway or taxi. If it’s like Xinjiang, Qinggan, or western Sichuan, the self driving experience will be better, and renting or chartering a car is a good choice. As for accommodation, prices vary and accommodation habits differ, making it difficult to have a comprehensive review of hotels and homestays. Therefore, you can choose based on your budget and the reviews on the booking platform. The time consumption involved in transportation and accommodation should also be included in the daily itinerary, and it is recommended to plan ahead.

Enjoy the journey

Once everything is ready, you can adjust your joyful mood and enjoy the surprises and happiness brought by the journey. During the travel process, you can also stay up-to-date with the latest experiences on the internet and adjust any unreasonable parts of the guide in a timely manner. On the way, it is important to pay attention to safety, maintain a calm mindset, and experience the new environment, refresh one’s cognition, and enrich one’s life with the greatest enthusiasm.

END

I was pleasantly surprised. I thought this was a difficult article to organize, but I didn’t expect it to be written in just half a day. I have to say, I am someone who talks endlessly when it comes to going out to play! I hope the above content can be helpful to friends. Wishing everyone a wonderful time playing~
